We offer a complete layout construction service to help you get started in the exciting world of model railroads.

We specialize in the design and construction of small and medium sized layouts in both N and HO scale. Typically, we offer an operational N or HO scale layout suitable for a beginner, or for small spaces. Our prices are very reasonable.

Examples include N scale layouts of c. 20 sq. ft (based on lightweight hollow core doors - see example of a current project) complete with track, scenery and basic wiring. We also offer small (typically 4' * 8' - 32 sq ft.) HO scale layouts, which can be customized to your requirements. Examples of such layouts can be found in Model Railroader™ magazine, or on their web-site at www.modelrailroader.com. See also examples of our Current Projects (click on the Projects tab above).

Depending on your requirements, we use Code 100 (HO) or Code 80 (N) sectional track or flex track with Atlas™ or Peco™ turnouts, with remote turnout operation if required. These allow you to run older locomotives and rolling stock as well as newer models. Fine scale trackage can also be provided (Code 80 for HO, Code 55 for N), if so desired.  For quality reasons, we prefer to use new track, epecially for turnouts.  If you have existing trackage you would like us to use, please let us know.

Both conventional DC and DCC control systems are available. For these smaller layouts, we recommend DCC, as this allows the wiring to be simplified, yet permits more than 1 train to run simultaneously, each individually controlled.
